What's Redhot?
Redhot has been pushing boundaries since its inception as Yale’s first all-gender a cappella group in 1977, when our founding two women assembled a vocal supergroup to bring high-fidelity SATB jazz harmonies to campus for the first time. Just like the jazz greats we always honor, we perform music that shows how jazz both inspires and reflects the world around it.
The only requisite to be in Redhot & Blue is a love of
good music! Our members are quirky, diverse, and passionate about creating and sharing sounds that move people. We are a loving, tight-knit group of friends who bond over hours of weekly rehearsals, frequent travel both within the Northeast and well beyond, and plenty of time spent just hanging out. Good tunes, good vibes, and good food bring us together wherever we are.
