WARMUPS
EARTRAINING
BLENDING
YOURSOLO

We’ll start off with some basic exercises to test your vocal range and to get you warmed up for the rest of your audition.

We’ll check your musical instincts with a few quick ear-training exercises.

Below you’ll find the first fourteen measures of “When You Are Old.” Pick and prepare the line you think best fits your voice part. A quartet will guide you through the excerpt at your audition. Sound files are available below, too.

This is your moment to show us what you can do. Don't worry too much about what to sing - it's much more important for us to hear how you sing. Bring your go-to karaoke number, the encore from your senior recital, or your favorite shower tune. Whatever it is, just be ready to show us what you've got!

Notes:

  • These MIDIs reflect how we sing this piece, so please listen closely (n.b. fermata and tempo)!

  • Don't worry — we will sing this for you in the audition room before you join us in the blending exercise.
