Your Audition
1. Warmups
We’ll start off with some basic exercises to test your vocal range and to get you warmed up for the rest of your audition.
2. Ear Training
We’ll check your musical instincts with a few tonal memory and ear training exercises at the piano!
3. Blending
Below, you’ll find the first four measures of “Blackbird.” Pick and prepare the line you think best fits your voice. A quartet will guide you through the excerpt in your audition.
4. Personal Solo
This is your moment to show us what you can do. Don’t worry too much about what to sing — it’s much more important for us to hear how you sing. Bring your go-to karaoke number, the encore from your senior recital, or your favorite shower tune. Whatever it is, come ready to show us what you’ve got! As always, if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask one of the Rush Managers above.
